According to Spectrum News 1, at least 10 people were injured after an NYPD collided with another vehicle. The impact caused the police car to breach the sidewalk hitting six pedestrians. Included in the injured were two police officers with the New York Police Department. Reports indicate that the police vehicle was responding to a call of a stolen vehicle when the crash occurred at the intersection of Hoe Avenue and Westchester Avenue.
The driver of a van was killed when he rear-ended a tractor-trailer while traveling on the Cross Bronx Expressway, as reported by the New York Daily News. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash, which happened at approximately 8:15 am on October 12, caused a significant delay for morning commuters.
A pedestrian was killed on November 2nd after being struck by the driver of a Mazda 3. Norwood News reports that the man was standing in the left lane of the Bronx River Parkway when he was fatally injured. The Bronx car accident occurred at approximately 10:24 pm near Pelham Parkway.
A fatal police pursuit ended in the death of one person. Three others were also injured in the November 9 accident that occurred at the intersection of Spring Valley Road and Route 9 South. According to News 12, officers were attempting to pull over a vehicle driven by a person suspected of attempted car theft. Several cars were damaged during the pursuit by the suspect before the deadly crash.
On November 29, a woman was killed after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision. Fox 5 reports that the woman rear-ended a truck driven by a postal service contractor on the Cross Bronx Expressway at around 12:30 am. While waiting for police, the woman’s vehicle was hit by another truck. The woman died at the scene after both trucks caught fire.
